As at December 2015, Alpen Invest was Slovenia’s largest independent mutual funds management company with more than €100m of funds under management. The firm has more than 15 years experience in the South Eastern European region with more than 25.000 investors, including many international institutional investors. It employed 18 professionals at its Ljubljana headquarters with 110 years of combined investment experience.
Alpen is a regulated (by the Slovenian Securities and Exchange Commission) asset management company with an EU compliant UCITS fund (Alpen.SI). The fund has consistently outperformed its benchmark since inception while a third of the fund is invested in highly liquid assets that could be liquidated in a few days. It also invests more than 75% of its assets in domestic companies which provides market insights and a range of investment capabilities that only a few other firms can match through its investment professionals located across the region.
Apart from Alpen.SI, the firm manages an additional 2 funds, Alpen.Developed that invests primarily in the equity of large companies in developed markets (U.S., EU, Canada, and developed Asia-Pacific) as well as Alpen.Emerging that seeks to capture dynamic opportunities that are made by companies that drive and benefit from rapid growth in emerging economies.

Acquisition of Proinvestments A.D. a Serbian investment firm with a stake in Profinance d.o.o., a factoring company, Tesla Capital A.D., a securities brokerage firm and NETA Capital Croatia, a mutual funds management company.
Participation in DDM Holdings AG’s Initial Public Offering with a 7.6% stake (jointly with Alpen Invest). DDM Group is a specialist acquirer and manager of distressed asset portfolios in Eastern Europe.
DDM was formed in 2007 by a group of individuals that had previously successfully built a similar company. DDM’s management team has more than 50 years of combined experience in the distressed asset market and has overseen several thousands of transactions in more than 25 countries.
Since inception and until August 2014, DDM had invested EUR 70m with an average net recovery in 1 year

Relationships through outsourcing collections with all top-tier collection agencies and banks allowed DDM to aggregate and tightly control its collections while providing a steady stream of deal flow. In addition to its main markets, Romania and Russia, DDM is actively seeking new market opportunities in Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
On 5 August 2014, DDM listed its shares on Nasdaq OMX First North (ticker: DDM) with a market cap on the day of listing of SEK 355M (approx. EUR 38.5m).
